Product description: Derris Scandens has been used in Ayurvedic medicine in Southeast Asia for several thousand years as a drug intended for the treatment of a narrow range of diseases of the musculoskeletal system. At the Department of Herbal Medicine at Mahidol University, under the auspices of the Thai Ministry of Health, from 2007 to 2009, clinical studies were conducted on the effects of Derris Scandens extract on diseases of the musculoskeletal system. The study involved 120 patients diagnosed with osteoarthritis and osteoarthritis of the knee joint. The age groups of the subjects ranged from 50 to 80 years. Studies have shown that in all cases there is an improvement in the condition of patients, regardless of age and severity of the disease. The average therapy results show that patients who experienced acute pain in the knee joint after using the Derris Scandens extract for 4 weeks at a dosage of 400 mg orally twice a day could walk without pain for an average time of 6 minutes. Another study was conducted by a group of Thai Ayurvedic medicine specialists: Dr. Panupong Puttarak, Dr. Retri Savangjit and Dr. Nathon Chayakunapruk. The study was aimed at determining the clinical effect and safety of the use of Derris Scandens for the treatment of pain in the musculoskeletal system in comparison with the standard regimen of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. A total of 414 patients took part in the clinical study. The use of Derris Scandens as the main herbal drug for treating a group of various diseases of the musculoskeletal system, such as arthritis, arthrosis and osteoarthritis, showed high efficacy of therapy without side effects that are characteristic of chemically synthesized drugs. In the course of clinical trials, a therapeutic effect was established in the treatment of rheumatism, muscle spasm of smooth muscles, muscle cramps and paresthesia - that is, numbness of the extremities.
